Alex Miller
Avid Certified Instructor
Biography
Having started his career working in traditional analogue recording studios, Alex first certified as a Pro Tools Expert in 2013. He has been delivering and creating content for university institutions for over 10 years and has been delivering Pro Tools training since 2013.
Alongside his work as a lecturer in Audio Production, Alex currently works producing records in a diverse range of genres including Pop, Jazz, Rock, Contemporary, and Classical. His tracks have a combined total of more than 150 million plays on Spotify, as well as featuring on BBC1, Channel 4, Radio 1, Radio 2, and various other UK and international stations.
Through a combination of professional training and continued industry work, Alex is able to easily provide real-world examples for his students, offering valuable practical context for the Pro Tools training courses. He is a highly motivated and enthusiastic instructor who seeks to bring his passion for audio production into the learning environment, ensuring his students are knowledgeable of the latest production and software techniques being used in studios worldwide.
Sam Jones
Avid Certified Instructor
Biography
Sam has over a decade of audio engineering experience. Originally from Cheddar in Somerset, Sam moved to Salford in 2009 to study Popular Music & Recording. Since this time he has worked with a plethora of artists and clients including BBC Comedy, the BBC Philharmonic, Delaval Film, Manchester Collective, The University of Salford, and Manchester Metropolitan University.
He is currently working with artists Maruja & Greg Bounce. Over the years Sam has himself performed in several different musical outfits including KOALAS & I Was Love as well as composing the scores for several award-winning films.
Sam also lectures in Music Technology, Sound Recording and Audio Production.
Phil Denton

Biography
Phil is a seasoned audio professional with over 10 years of hands-on experience in the audio industry. After graduating with a first-class degree in Sound engineering and Production Phil went on to work as an assistant recording engineer at a Leeds-based Recording Studio, where he worked on a wide range of music and post-based projects. Following this he has worked as a recording technician where he has been delivering Pro Tools courses for the last 8 years.
In 2016, Phil achieved Pro Tools Certified Instructor status, marking his commitment to sharing knowledge and empowering others in the world of audio production. Building on this foundation, he recently earned recognition as a Pro Tools Expert, solidifying his expertise in this industry-standard software.
His journey with Pro Tools has seamlessly intertwined with his professional career. From working in recording studios to his role as a Recording Technician at the University of Salford, Phil’s portfolio spans both the realms of music and post-production, showcasing a deep understanding of Pro Tools’ capabilities.
Phil brings a unique blend of real-world usage and Pro Tools teaching experience to the table.
